FAQ about AMVIV
Is it true that we are encouraged to wear pj’s on the strip cruise?
Yes, the strip cruise has always been a source for the argument of how we could do it better. Logistically speaking everyone has always focused on the route itself, and this year as a committee we decided that the best way to make it more unique was to change us and not be concerned about the plan. Just to have fun with it, so put on your pj’s or a costume, if you’re so inclined.
Is the Nawghty Nine going to be kid friendly?
Yes, we encourage everyone to bring their families. Most of our evening events are adult geared (alcohol served), but you’re the parent and you get to make the final call. We are all family.
I heard there may be a dunk tank at the car show, how can we nominate someone for the dunk tank?
Yes, send your nominee Secretary@sincityminiclub.com
If I think your nomination deserves a cool dip I will review their qualifications and possibly get them on the list. Provide a paragraph about why this person is a real tool and what makes them deserving!
Do the T-shirts run small?
We wish!! Every year we try to get smaller ones but they actually are on par with last year’s.
What should we bring on the runs?
Typical stuff you would normally do: check your tires, check your oil, fuel and all the other system checks you do. I recommend water and snacks – it’s the desert and its late spring, so lots of water… lots of snacks because it’s a road trip!
For those of you that missed it in your Inbox – here’s a shout out from Lisa (AKA Evil Twin “Instigator”):
When was the last time you waived at a random Honda? I figured as much, and that is exactly why you get these emails! You’re a part of this and have until Friday to take advantage of the early registration savings for our reunion, AMVIV9.
I am excited to hear we have some groups from WA coming and representing Puget Sound MINI, Salish Sea MINI and Mid-Columbia MINIs. I’m told they heard SCMC knows how to entertain, and wanted to join the shenanigans! MINI5280 must be missing the energy we brought to their mountain and room 242, because I see they plan to bring it! We came back from MITM and incorporated the pajama party we had in Colorado into our Strip Cruise, and we can’t wait to see your faces and hear a few hhheeeeeeeeellllllllllllllllllllllllllloooooooooooooo’s. Arizona is represented – including, if I’m not mistaken, one of AMVIV’s forefathers. Several neighbors from CA are heading over, representing several of the clubs. I already have my eye on a few of them that like to play pranks (I can help you
MEET THE COMMITTEE!!
I have heard all kinds of buzz about the preparations for AMVIV9, and thought you’d like to meet the people that are putting it all together.
*Lisa Surber and Connie Pagan are your “AMVIV ANGELS” -sending out notices, organizing meetings, planning the design contest and figuring out your swag!
*Julie Preneta (AKA ‘Jules’ ) and Minako Miller “AGENTS OF CENTRAL COMMAND” – webmasters, registration, finance and activities.
*Chris Tunison, Toni Miller and Rich Loera “SERGEANTS OF MAYHEM” – the Vendor liaisons, Run Masters, Volunteer Coordinators and occasionally security.
*Karen Day and Kerry Gulzow “FUN TIME NEGOTIATORS” – locking down the Saturday night party and the Hotel accommodations.
*Andrew Ross and Kathy Cooper “SHOW STOPPERS” – the Car Show.
*Alia Gebelin “GOSSIP GURL” – organizing the electronic book.
If you don’t know who these people are and you need direct contact I will get you their email addresses if needed.
Lastly we added a new page to our site that has alternative activities, check it out!
Lisa’s got some news for us all. Without further ado, take it away, Lisa
It’s about that time! Early registration for AMVIV ends May 11. If you haven’t signed up yet I encourage you to click on this link and sign up!
Check this out, the “Strip Cruise” this AMVIV will be run in our pajamas! Of course pajamas are optional* and you are encouraged to motor the runway in your own fashion!! Maybe you would rather rock a zombie outfit or some other rad costume, it’s your run! I am told that our very own Agro might have some ORANGE pj’s/tutu for this very motor, and as always some pre-motor hugs!
Jules was spotted “buttering up” security at Palace this week! Rumor has it she was posting ‘wanted photos’ of the Evil Twins at “5b” and schmoozing with Security. She’s definitely up to something interesting! Like us on Facebook to follow her mayhem! Click this link if you still need to get your room!
That is just a taste of the sweet goodness we have in store for you at this year’s event! Soon we will be adding a section to our site that has “optional activities” for you to explore while on your MINI Vacation in Vegas!
Send me a note (email@example.com) if you are traveling in a group and want me to blast it! I love a good story.
* DISCLOSURE – Chris Tunison, when I say “optional” I mean you can wear regular clothing if you don’t do pajamas!
(For those of you that don’t know Chris, he was the winner of the “COMMANDO” award for AMVIV8. Enough said.)
Come on, get signed up! We can’t wait to see you
