DESIGN CONTEST

Many of you will be aware that Dee from CooperCards designed the AMVIV5 shirt, hat and event book cover. We have decided to make this an annual occurrence, having someone in the MINI community design the event artwork.

Look at the bottom of the page to see the past designs that we've used.

The Prize
bulletThe winning submission will be used on the AMVIV6 event shirt, hat and book.
bulletThe artist's signature or company logo will be included on the shirt and book cover (space is at a premium on the hat).
bulletThe winner will receive 2 free nights at Palace Station during AMVIV6 weekend.
bulletThe winner will receive one of the limited edition "volunteer color" event shirts using their design in their choice of size.
bulletThe winner will receive ongoing recognition and promotion as the designer of the shirt and event book for the largest annual MINI event in the US.

Rules and recommendations
General rules:
  1. Art must be submitted by September 22nd, 2008 (9/22/2008) to AMVIVContest@gmail.com.
  2. All artwork should be submitted in an editable, layered format (we use Photoshop PSDs for our artwork).
  3. The winning designs (and only the WINNING ones) will become property of the Sin City MINI Club.
  4. The Sin City MINI Club reserves the right to modify the winning design as necessary for layout and printing needs.
  5. There should be 3 designs submitted.
    bullet1 large design for the back of the event shirt, which will be tweaked slightly for use as the event book cover.
    bullet1 small design for the breast area of the event shirt, elements may be incorporated into the event grille badge.
    bullet1 small design for the front of the event hat, elements may be incorporated into the event grille badge.
  6. The dates are 3/26-29, 2009 and should be incorporated into the 2 shirt designs. The hat has the event dates on the temple.
  7. No Elvis this year
  8. You can use either the number 6 or the roman numeral VI for the AMVIV sequence number (AMVIV6 or AMVIV VI are both fine)

Shirt Back:
  1. The shirt colors this year are going to be hunter green (approximately) and lime green for the volunteer shirts, so the design has to work on both backgrounds.
  2. As we have the shirts screen printed, there is a limit of 5 to 6 colors, white and black each count as a color. The green of the background does NOT count as a color.
  3. The shirt back design should include the following elements

    bulletArtist's signature or Logo - your choice
    bulletoptional "AMVIV6"

Shirt Front:
  1. The shirt front design should reflect the shirt back design
  2. You can use "AMVIV6" or "AMVIV VI" instead of "A MINI Vacation In Vegas 6"

Hat Front:
  1. All hats will be as close as possible to the hunter green shirt color, possibly with a black brim.
  2. The hat artwork should look like it goes with the shirt art, but doesn’t need to be identical.
  3. Hats are embroidered, so the number of colors is not an issue, but fine borders and details are. Avoid thin lines, especially right against another color.
  4. The event name and dates are embroidered separately on the sides of the hat, so these elements don’t need to be included in the submitted hat art.
