We have teamed up with LVRSCCA for some Autocross fun on at Las Vegas Motor Speedway!! The Autocross will be Sunday, May 19 starting at 7:00 am.
If enough of you sign up online ahead of time they will group us and we can compete against each other, otherwise we will be classed accordingly. Registration opens at 0700 or preregister online.
First-timers, you can get $10 off your entry fee! Just tell the registration folks you are a new driver. You can register online ahead of time, and wait to pay when you arrive at the Autocross.
Note: The car has to be safe (no loose lugs/battery, no leaks, cleaned out on the inside) and the driver needs a helmet (rentals available). Other important tips can be found here.
I was recently going through schedules of AMVIV past and reflecting on where it all began and how it has evolved. Having only worked on 4 AMVIV’s I was curious. I had lunch with Agro and he told me grand stories and how we used to hand out a book, a bag of freebies, and the schedule was motors. He spoke of some of you who have attended for years, true enthusiasts! He explained to me that “those of us without passion are simply boring people”, perhaps why he runs around in orange shoes all day. Passion.
AMVIV evolved by adding swag, parties and other activities over the years.
This is our Anniversary, it’s been 10 years so our goal was to couple the tradition and celebrate the future!! Here is the deal, for those of us who chose to come celebrate, this AMVIV will be amazing fun. We will have the runs, a track day, and the Motor In on Thursday night. This year’s AMVIV will also offer a vacation experience for those who want to explore Las Vegas along with several parties and the nicer venue. I think of all the people I have had the opportunity to meet and how I can’t wait to see your shiny cars and happy faces.
Friday Night:
Chris the man behind the celebration and President of SCMC will host us through a late night of bowling and movies! If you have ever partied after 3am at 5B you know how much fun this is going to be.
Saturday Night:
We have a new development at the Saturday Night Party. DB of White Roof Radio is planning something very special, so we can all have some crazy memories of this Anniversary AMVIV X. He will manage the White Roof Photo Booth for some digital fun! All you need to do is step inside, try on some props and make your fancy face (Chris I said face!). Photos will be shared on line for all to see. So please stop by the White Roof Photo Booth and say cheese! DB will also be taking appointments for photo shoots of you and your MINI/Mini, contact him for more information or snag him at AMVIV!
Of course, our very own Kerry will be our Host and will guide us through the evening. Agro will address the crowd as he has been the man that lit the torch and ensures that it continues to burn!
Hotel:
Our room block ends MAY 1st, unless we run out of rooms first! If you have been waiting to get your room, this is your last chance to take advantage of our guaranteed rates.
Registration:

We wanted to give you a peek at why this late night bit of goofiness was something you don’t want to miss. No, as far as we know we don’t have any Earl Anthony’s, Pete Weber’s or any other real pros here in the SCMC. Don’t be intimidated – this is going to be a blast! We can even ask about lane bumpers, if you really ‘can’t’ play – but really there is no pressure. Did you see those lanes?

You’ve probably noticed that we are changing up AMVIV this year. We thought it might be fun to give you the opportunity to let everyone know you were here. This year for $20 you can have your name (name or anything respectable up to 20 characters) on the back of everyone’s event shirt. We already have Starlight Blue Sponsors; however I am not sure that we fully explained the vision and opportunity.
So to recap, if you are interested, $20 and you can be a sponsor getting your name on every event shirt. Effortless and it’s a great way to showcase you were in Vegas for X!
If you’re interested in something more, consider this: $50 gets you a table at the car show to meet people and sell stuff, an ad at the bowling party, sponsor listing on our site and your name on the shirt. These are some basic ways you can be a sponsor for AMVIV X and meet fellow enthusiasts. It’s that simple, you get to come to the event and participate how you like.
We are giving you an opportunity to help AMVIV evolve… Use the sponsorship as your guide but really think how you want to participate and let us know!

Kerry and I did some AMVIV recon work this weekend and you may have seen his review on FB. It was great insight into what to expect at Red Rock. We spent some time sneaking around the whole property, enjoying some awesome music and took a stroll to the outdoor patio where the steam coming off the pool looked amazing! Pack a swimsuit; the pool party will be super fun!
We are currently slightly over 65% booked for our standard block at the Hotel some nights at 81%!!

We are breaking the mold this year and changing some things up, the majority has spoken and your planners have listened. Check this out:
REGISTRATION: You surely noticed that the registration fee went up a bit this year. Stay calm and AMVIV X ON! Your registration includes entry and food at the Saturday Night Party!! Last year we all had to pony up for some vittles but this year along with great entertainment at a spa resort pool we are serving food. Guest or Copilot registration pays for their entry into the Saturday Night Party as well. This is projected to be the biggest, wettest party yet! You will see AMVIV celebrities, Agro will address the attendees and our Host Kerry Gulzow will make sure everyone has a great time! We won’t give it all away but know you’re invited and we are going to have a blast!
